heyya dear.

CRDe (Common Rail Diesel Engine)

CRDe or Common Rail Diesel Engine is another name (by Mahindra) for world-renowned 'Common Rail Direct Fuel Injection' technology. Many car manufacturers in India & world r using this technology with different names. You must have listened CRD l engines in Hyundai cars, TDCi in Ford (Fiesta diesel in India), Dicor (new Safari) in Tata & CD l in Mercs. Hence CRDe is not something new, its being used extensively all over the world for a decade now.

As we all know diesel is not as good fuel as petrol. It does not burn as easily as petrol so to make it burn inside cylinders, its sprayed into the cylinders, which then compressed & exploded. Problem with methodology is that the diesel & air fuel does not get enough compression & some of it remain unburnt which lead to poor fuel efficiency & poor performance of engine.

In Common Rail Injection, a common rail (you can consider it as hollow tube or pipe) is connected to fuel storage. Diesel is stored at very high pressure usually upto 1600-1800 bar. Valves fitted in this common rail r used to inject this high-pressure diesel into cylinders. Since diesel already has very high pressure, it burns easily & more efficiently. This pressure does not depend on engine-speed, so this efficient combustion is there at low as well as high speeds.

Since in Common Rail systems fuel-air mixture is burnt almost completely, engine becomes more fuel economic & power too goes up considerably. Since fuel is burnt more easily, the noise at the time of combustion is also lesser. These r the major advantages of a Common Rail system.

Adopting Common Rail technology in diesel engines is becoming a necessity, that is why every car manufacturer in India is going for it. Mahindra & Tata r no exceptions.

CRDi is an acronym used by some major automobile manufacturers for the revolutionary Diesel fuel delivery system called Common Rail Direct Injection. This is in stark contrast to the mundane low pressure diesel pumps of yesterday. Pressure up to 1700 bars in maintained in the common fuel rail which has Piezo injectors which allow diesel to be directly injected into the combustion chamber at this high pressure. Instant atomisation takes place & this spray is very fine & evenly distributed aiding efficiency & power delivery. Also the injectors can inject upto 5 times per combustion cycle which gives a more uniform & controlled combustion & helps extract maximum energy from the combustion cycle. Very sophisticated & brainchild of a Mr. Hiber of Switzerland. It was introduced commercially by Denso Corporation of Japan & in the 90 is all major european passenger vehicle manufacturers used this technology to get more refined, powerful & fuel efficient Diesel engines into the demanding market.

Many variations exist of the above said model but this is like the latest l guess!

dtsi means dual twin spark ignition. normally engine r fitted with one spark plug for ignition dtsi engine have two spark plug for ignition. mpfi means multi point fuel injection. mpfi & dtsi r different things how can u relate spark plug & fuel injection, they r for different purpose. u cannot different dtsi & mpfi

CRDe/CRDi: common rail diesel engine! they r both apparently same! but may have few difference!
they r used in modern days cars which run on diesel!
this make the car powerful, fuel efficient, produces less sound!! this type of engine is used by most diesel cars now!

DTSi: digital twin spark ignition system!
this is a n engine used in bajaj bikes now!
it is adifferent engine!
bcoz it has two spark plugs!
which make the full use of the petrol & leaves no un burnt fuel!
this also makes the bikes powerful/ & gives good mielage!!
this is apatented technology of bajaj!!
soon they r releasing DTS-si version engine on sept 10 th!
wait for the bike !
125cc engine 109kmpl mielage!!
plz gv me five stars
and best !!

These r acronyms of the manufacturers' name for common rail direct injection. Manufacturer X has to distinguish his version of the CRD l technology from CRD l used by everybody else. So he cooks up a fancy name for it. Not to be outdone, Manufacturer Y too finds his own name & a matching fancy, smart sounding acronym for the same concept.
YOu need to read the name & descriptions twice to understand that they actually mean the same thing. Typically, crdis r less polluting & more fuel efficient than all diesels, & turbo diesels.
Yes, CRD l is only for diesel; not petrols.
