``Mahindra'' is a family name. ``Mahindra & Mahindra'' is a family owned conglomerate. Legend has it that it was originally ``Mahindra & Mohammed'', and later became Mahindra and Mahindra when the ``Mohammed'' part moved on to Pakistan during the partition.

They make so many things -- tractors (the things you use in farms - not the ones which pull trailers - those are called lorries in India), SUVs, and now, cars, in collaboration with Renault.
