which do you prefer to buy

It depends. The Verna is quicker but the Logan is more economical.

First of all, Logan owe 1.5Ltr. diesel engine not 1.6Ltr. Verna has also similar size of engine but is more powerful. Verna also looks better, but for these, Hyundai takes approx. Rs.1.6 lacs extra cash. Logan is definitely better in aspects like space, price, maintenance,safety equipments & over all package is better value for money .Interior space/ boot space(510ltr.against344ltr.) r better in Logan. And in LOGAN up to 80-90km/h. speed u will feel the same power as of VERNA & u will never feel underpowered. Glove box lamp, Key-less entry, Sound system, Map reading lamp, Air bag, & Trip computer r some traits that u will get in Logan on even paying 1.6Lacs less. The flip side in Logan is- it looks boxy, not modern. Colour choices r also limited compared to Verna. Wiper blade & Switches(of Lights, Indicators & Wiper etc.) settings in Logan is more suited for Left Hand Drive system as in Europe or America. We have here Right Hand Drive system, Mahindra-Renault must have thought over it.

l would take the Verna because it looks so much better than the Logan. Bigger and better overall car too.
